Mining engineering is related to minerals. Mining engineering mainly deals with the extraction of minerals from earth using science and technology. Mining engineering is associated with many other disciplines, such as geology, mineral processing, and metallurgy, geotechnical engineering and surveying. A mining engineer may manage any phase of mining operations – from exploration and discovery of the mineral resource, through a feasibility study, mine design, development of plans, production and operations to mine closure. Mining engineers are also making sure that the environmental effects of mining extraction should be minimized. The handling of waste product from mining is also one major problem mining engineers are solving.

Eligibility

A pass in 12th with a minimum percentage of 50. ( 45 % FOR SC/ST)

Must have studied 12TH with PCM or PCMB combination.

 

Admission Procedure

Have to attend the Entrance Exam conducted by the concerned university.

Admission counseling will be conducted by the institutions after the publication of Entrance Exam result.

Scope of Mining Engineering

As mining engineering is associated with the extraction of minerals from the earth, the whole process requires a lot of research and development. So the requirement of mining engineers is always there.

All kind of minerals are available in India so the getting a good job with the good package is easy.

 

 

Fees

Fees for mining engineering starts from 1 lakh per year and goes up to 5 lakhs per year in India.

 

Course Duration

The duration of mining engineering is 4 years divided into 8 semesters.

 

 

Salary / Package-

Starting average package for mining engineers starts from 3 lakhs per year, for some talented students it even goes for higher than 5 lakhs per year.
